Here are some fabulous musical opportunities in our area:

Georgia Children's Chorus

The Georgia Children's Chorus, directed by Mrs. Carol Reeves, is a 100-voice children's chorus of singers ages 8-18. In its 20th season in residence at Hugh Hodgson School of Music at UGA, singers in the greater Athens area receive professional choral training and have a lot of fun! GCC students rehearse once a week and perform often throughout the community in addition to their seasonal concerts. Check out their website for more information:

UGA String Project

Hosted by Clarke and Oconee County School Districts, the UGA String Project is a program for beginning string students in 2nd - 5th grades and continuing students through 8th grade. String Project students meet twice a week in a mixed-instrument ensemble (including violin, viola, cello, and string bass) where they learn the basics of playing their chosen instrument. Classes are taught by UGA music majors, and are supervised by UGA faculty and/or graduate students. Check out their website for more information: http://ugacms.uga.edu/stringproject.html

The Saturday Morning Club is a series of free concerts for young people, by young people. These fun, interactive performances are designed for children from age 4 through 12 and feature performances by UGA student ensembles and other young performers. Parents and grandparents are encouraged to come and enjoy this family-friendly activity with their children. Check out their website for more information: https://pac.uga.edu/organizer/saturday-morning-club/
